We organise approximately 30 trials every year, with competitive classes for all types of British bikes from pre-unit rigid and girders to unit twins. Our trials feature eased clubman/rigid routes to suit all standards of rider where appropriate.
A series run over 11 or 12 rounds with competitive classes for both unit and pre-unit machines,
There will usually be 3 routes. Normal (hardest) for all classes except B, C, H and J. - Yellow (medium) for B, C, H, J and K. -
Green (easiest) - new route for class P for no awards.
Pre Unit Trials
A series run over 11 or 12 rounds with competitive classes for pre-unit bikes. Unit construction bikes are allowed to enter on a non-competitive basis. There will be two routes. Normal (medium) and yellow (easier) for riders on any machine not wanting to do the harder route.
The Captain's Trial
Staged entirely on private land on the historic Castle Carr Estate, a former hunting estate with a faux castle and water gardens. The terrain offers a superb mixture of steep woooded hill sides, rocky gullies and stream sections spread across a wide area. The event consists of 3 laps of 15 sections with catering and trade stands at the start. This events attracts the largest entry on our calendar. Places are limited and entries must be made by post before the event.
Big Bike Trials
Run over 4 rounds, the Big Bike series is strictly limited to pre-unit bikes and large capacity twins. There is one medium to easy route.
Northern Bike Round
We run a round of the Northern Bike series. Starting and finishing at the Guide Inn, the West Riding Trial is a road trial of aound 35 miles, crossing lots of Pennine moorland, and is open to all classes of pre 65 machines.
Road Runs
Despite a full trials calender, we organise occassional runs out for club members with road bikes new and old.
Classic Bike Show
We organise an annual Classic bike show at the Bronte Hotel, all proceeds and a club donation are shared between the Manor Lands Hospice and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Presentation Dinner
We subsidise an annual dinner In March for cub members and partners
where the awards are presented to the class winners.
Christmas Dinner
We organise a Chrismas dinner at the Bronte Hotel, all club
members and partners are invited.
News Letter
We publish quarterly news letters which are cirulated to all members either
by email or snail mail.
