GENERAL MACHINE RULES

MAIN FRAME LOOP.

- Main frame loop to be retained as original.

ALLOWED ALTERATIONS.

- Additional strengthening.

- Repositioning of oil/fuel tanks.

- Any colour change.

- Replica frames are accepted.

REAR SUB FRAME AND SWINGING ARM.

- Rear sub frame and swinging arm must retain their longitudinal dimensions, and so maintain original damper angle.

ALLOWED ALTERATIONS

- They may be increased or decreased in width,

- The sub frame may be altered in height.

FRONT FORKS.

- Other than pre. 65 manufactured parts may be used internally but must appear to be original externally. Rubber gaiters or tubes must be fitted to altered forks, R.E.H., M.P., Ceriani are not allowed.

YOKES.

-Only British or British replica yokes can be used.

WHEELS.

-Size of wheels not to exceed 21" front and 19" rear.

HUBS.

-Hubs must be of pre 65 pattern, Rickman, R.E.H. etc.

RIMS AND SPOKES.

-Any make or origin of rims and spokes can be used.

-Tubeless rims to be fitted with correct size inner tubes. 

-Inner tubes of correct size to be fitted, (tube valve only to protrude through Rim).

TYRES.

-Any make of tyre can be used, but tread pattern must be of standard trials type.

-Tyre cutting is not allowed.

TYRE PRESSURES.

-Riders choice.

REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS.

-Because original units are becoming worn out and hard to replace, any rear shock absorber, other than separate oil/gas reservoir type, can be used.

- Length of rear units to be within the range of good sense and reason.

FUEL TANK AND SEAT UNIT.

-Any type of tank and seat unit can be used.

ENGINE AND GEARBOX.

-Engine and gearbox must be original or of the same type manufactured for the appropriate class.

-No hydraulic Clutch or Clutch Controls to be fitted.

CARBURETTORS.

-Must be of British manufacture and the type originally fitted to engine.

ALLOWED ALTERATIONS.

-Amal mkI. concentric allowed.

IGNITION.

-Any ignition system can be used.

BRAKES.

-Front and rear brakes must be fitted and working.

-Only hub brakes may be used (no disc brakes).

-Any linkage for rear brake may be used i.e. rod or cable.

-Brake shoes may be fitted with any type or make of lining.

-No hydraulic Brakes or Brake Controls to be fitted.

EXHAUSTS AND SILENCERS.

-Any exhaust system may be used but a reasonable air gap between exhaust pipe and fuel supply is required.

-Silencers must silence. If a machine is deemed to be too loud, entry to trial may be denied.

 

Class F. Two Stroke

At the A.G.M. on November 18th it was proposed and passed that British two stroke machines manufactured from 1965 to 1970 are eligible to enter and compete in the F class. All the F class rules prior to the A.G.M. still apply; the rules for F class are as follows.

Yokes can only be used on F class machines manufactured between 1965 and 1970.

 

Particular Machine Rules

TWO STROKES

-Two strokes fitted with leading link forks cannot be changed to telefork suspension units of any age.

-Greeves fitted with banana forks are accepted as pre 65.

-Pre 70 R.E.H., Ceriani or M.P. can be used on F class machines manufactured from 1965 to 1970.

-Sprites fitted with B.S.A., Norton or A.M.C. forks are accepted as pre 65.

-Four speed Bantams are allowed in two strokes Class (F).

 

Tiger Cubs

At the A.G.M. it was proposed and passed that class D rules are as follows.

-Tiger Cubs are allowed to use carburettors other than of British manufacture.

-Tiger Cubs up to 250cc can enter and compete in the D class.
